Sarah Hughes Dark Ruby Mild from the Graham Wheeler book... c.5.7% and an absolute treat.
They had to get two barells of it at my local beer festival last October and they still ran out early on the Saturday!

From the book:-
23l
5110g Pale Malt
900g Crystal Malt
First boil:
31g Fuggles
26g Goldings
Last 10 mins:
19g Fuggles
EBU=30
EBC=37
ABV=5.7%
I've got to brew a batch for my Father-In-Laws birthday... he loves the stuff!

This was one of the first AG proews I did and I overdid the malt bill to compensate for batch-sparging
Came out at about 6.3%. Lovely brew and it gets better over time

+1 for the Sarah Hughes Ruby mild
Lucky me I only live 2 miles from the Beacon in Sedgley where it's brewed. In fact I think I may wander in tomorrow and try a couple

Do you know anything about their yeast? If not, would you mind asking while you're there, pretty please?

Elgoods Black Dog. Delicious, could bathe in the stuff.
Re: Which is your absolute favourite Mild?
I think the mild I've enjoyed the most is Earl Soham's Gannet Mild, best when really fresh. Fuggley and just a slight sweetness.

Re: Which is your absolute favourite Mild?
I had some excellent Harveys mild when in the brewery once. Surrey Hills Hammer mild is good, as is Mighty Oak Oscar Wilde mild.

Yeah Harveys is good, Thwaites is decent too
Re: Which is your absolute favourite Mild?
I've had Harvey's and Timothy Taylor's pale mild... Harvey's was the best.
Best Mild's have been the one's i've brewed! For obvious reasons.
This one from Jamil Zainasheff's book was good:

Re: Odp: Which is your absolute favourite Mild?
To me the thing that makes mild is yeast. S-04 made me best mild I ever brewed, the same beer rebrewed and fermented with Notty was "meh" at best. Same result for WLP022 Essex Ale, too dry even when finished at 1.012. I can't wait to try with Wyeast London Ale 3, it has beautiful sweet finish.
