House beer

Post by Bovril » Sun Nov 01, 2015 8:06 pm

Hello lads and lasses, looking for a bit of advice for a sensible house beer recipe. I've taken a break of about 3 years from brewing all grain..... Fished out all my old equipment, and discovers I have misplaced (or lost, as the mrs is saying) my old recipe notes.... Totally gutted, but taking this as an opportunity to find some new beers. So house beer for me is something we can have with dinner or lunch, not stupidly strong, but a good ipa would be fine, but open to suggestions from you fine folks. Haven't bought the grains yet, but as I live in Shetland it will be limited to what the local Brewer can supply.

If you look at the top of the beer recipes page there is a FAQ section which has loads of recipes to choose from. I think it's called something like Norm's real ale almanac.

So glad you found your way in here, Bovril. What're some of your favourite beers or beer styles to drink? Pale or dark? Malty or hoppy? Session or strong? Help us narrow things down a bit, and we'll surely have some good recipe suggestions for you.

Cheers!

I like a good pale ale, but grew up on Scottish beers like 70 and 80 shilling...so love them too.
