Looking for inspiration for a sessionable 4-5% pale or ipa, has anyone got something they like brewing a lot ?

Hi there
I brew this one regularly, to around 4.5%
Pale 94%
Caramalt 3%
Oats 3%
For about 20 litres
Citra 10g @ 10 mins
Citra 15g @ 5 mins
Citra 35g whirlpool at 80c for 20 mins
Citra 40g dry hop 3 days
1 packet of s05 yeast
It's my best regular beer and I always brew it for parties etc

ist update for months n months..
Fermnting: not a lot..
Conditioning: nowt
Maturing: Challenger smash, and a kit lager
Drinking: dry one minikeg left in the store
Coming Soon Lots planned for the near future nowt for the immediate

Oliver, what's your IBU on that citra pale?
I made a session IPA recently that is really good. IBU a bit on the high end but it's a really nice beer.
Your malt bill is close enough to mine too.

Not sure on the ibu's (haven't got beersmith in front of me) but it's definitely not overpowering on bitterness.
Not entirely convinced that ibu's is that reliable anyway with whirlpool/steep hops.
I add the dry hops about 5 days into fernention and keg it at 8 days and then drinking it 15 days after brew day (i.e. As fresh as possible)

BeerSmith now accommodates bitterness from steep/whirlpool hops. It is a factor you can adjust. Go to options and click on bitterness in the left hand column. The default is 50%, which you can change to suit. I think a better guide is the IBU:SG ratio box on the Design tab. Find a level of bitterness ration you like and adjust accordingly.

It will still be very low IBU though .... that's not a problem imo, would just like to get a ball park for it

My concern would be what a lack of isomerised hop bitterness does to the "shelf" life of the beer. Be very interested in you following up in a few weeks to let us know whether you detect quicker deterioration in the beer more than you usually do.
