Here is a recipe for a light beer I made a few weeks ago to use up some hops I had sitting around in the freezer for some time. I bottled it last weekend and cracked one open this evening - its a real cracker, sweet nice hop aroma and good balanced bitterness. IBUs are low for the level of hops, but i used beersmith to input their age and hence their bittering effect.
4.25kg MO
.2kg Crystal
.1kg Wheat
60g fuggles 5% 60mins (29.8ibu)
60g progress 4.5% 15mins (13.3ibu)
60g cascade 5.5% flameout
90 mins mash @ 67c batch sparge
1044 OG = 4.2%
43IBU
14.7EBC

Re: Autumn Burst
Looks great there CF
How does the progress sit with the cascade, out of interest?

Re: Autumn Burst
Seems to work quite well, its early days as its only been in the bottle a week now.
The overal impression is an IPA style, its quite sweet, but I normally mash at 67 as I like body in a beer. Initial taste is sweet, then there is a floral impression, then a big smack of bitterness (but I expect that will mellow).

Re: Autumn Burst
Gonna try Cascade for the first time soon.
I like the sound of the recipe, not sure what I'm doing yet.
