Just got a couple of ASDA ales made my Shepherd Neame and they have the Ingredients and percentages on the back (and the website), only think missing is the hop varieties...
ASDA Whitechapel Porter - TOUGH BUT SLIGHTLY SWEET. A DARK RUBY TRADITIONAL PORTER COMBINING UNDERLYING ROASTED MALT FLAVOUR WITH SPICY HOP NOTES.
Barley Malt (71%), Crystal Malt (7.5%), Chocolate Malt (4.5%), Glucose Syrup (16%)
ASDA Extra Special Golden Ale - A WELL BALANCED FUSION OF MALT & FLORAL HOP, WITH A CLEAN DRY CITRUS FINISH.
Barley Malt (95%), Crystal Malt (4.2%), Hops (0.8%)
GENTLEMAN JACK - Which tastes just like Spitfire states - A NUT BROWN PREMIUM ALE WITH A FRUITY HOP AROMA & BITTER FLAVOUR NOTES. ORIGINAL PREMIUM ALE.
Barley Malt, Crystal Malt, Glucose Syrup, Hops
Not tried the first two yet, has anyone else had them?

Re: ASDA / Shepherd Neame Beers
The Porter is really quite nice.
Chill it down too far and it's actually a decent quencher - let it warm up and the flavours are decent, whilst the use of syrups keeps it light.
The syrup must contain caramel or somesuch as I put the supposed recipe into BeerAlchemy and the result was a tad less dark.
The Golden ale is passable as a cold quencher - Gentleman Jack, a bit boring for me.

Re: ASDA / Shepherd Neame Beers
I'll probably try the Porter tonight

Re: ASDA / Shepherd Neame Beers
The Porter is rather tasty.
The Asda/Sheperd Neame beers used to sell for about a quid a bottle until they became a popular drink.

Just drinking the Porter now, not bad though not really my thing.

Re: ASDA / Shepherd Neame Beers
I'd not normally choose a dark beer to drink often - but that one is an easy drinker and moreish.
Normally with a stout or porter its one bottle slowly every so often for me.
The clear glass bottle is fine for reuse too, if you cover em or just use the odd one as a QC sample to keep track of clarity.
