I keep having a play with this one -
50 litres
Maris Otter (light) malt 8.024 kg
Wheat malt 0.448 kg
Start of boil
Cascade 30gms
Centennial 15gms
Last 15 min Centennial 8gms + Irish Moss
Last 5 min Cascade 20gms
Having modified a freezer (stat) to accommodate two 5 gal barrels, it is my intention to chill the brew 4 C.
For this reason I am going to carry out a Single Step Infusion Mash, giving the mash a protein rest.
Would appreciate any thoughts prior to brewing tommor.
Cheers Vaudy

Pippin really is a nice pint, hope the brew turns out well.
Re: Copper Dragon - Pippin Clone
Hazz66 might be able to provide some advice for Golden Pippen; I think he nailed a clone.
Re: Copper Dragon - Pippin Clone
Heres my version that everyone thinks is Golden Pippin.
3500g MO Pale Malt
400g Wheat
30g Cascade @ 60 mins AA 7.6%
10g Cascade @ 20 mins Aa 7.6%
10g Cascade @ 10 mins Aa 7.6%
There is NO Centennial in Golden Pippin, its just Cascade i was told this by someone
who shall remain nameless.

And the water is well, our water is very soft so i just add a teaspoon of each of Gypsum and Epsom salts,
not sure what the profile would be exactly, but this is how i treat the water for all my brews apart from lager.
However you make up your water for your normal brew i`d just do the same for this as you could always alter it
in your next brew if it isnt right, hope this helps.
Re: Copper Dragon - Pippin Clone
Haz 66,
I used Nottingham yeast for the brew, I have just purchased Safale 05 (American style) which I am going to use next time. The brew is maturing at the moment going to chill it down to 4 C in the next few days for a week prior to trying. With regard to the water - it is soft (Lancashire from the lakes) I usually just add 2 teas Gypsum (10 gal), the ph is around 5.2. I will post with regard to the taste.
Going to give your version a try next time with the 05 yeast- with regard to the wheat is it wheat malt?
Cheers
