Shepherd Neame Early Bird Spring Hop Ale

Post by crafty john » Sat Mar 12, 2011 8:05 pm

Just tried a bottle of the above and It's bloody lovely, just how I like my beer, I don't suppose anyone has a clone recipe? I would love to re create it.

It says on the bottle that it's made with Kentish early bird hops, any clues anyone?

Cheers
John

It has Pale & Biscuit malt with early bird goldings in copper, with goldings as late addition
Good luck!

Hi, as stated by others Early Bird is a subvariety of East Kent Goldings, as is Late Red one of their other seasonals. Probably is related to when the hops ripen.
I agree with pale malt and crystal, but SN probably stuck about 10% sugar in as well.

Cheers, B.
