Multiple brews

Post by barney » Thu Oct 13, 2011 7:36 am

Hello,

Having made about 22 AG brews so far this year, all different styles strengths and recipes, it struck me that one of the very first brews I made, was really quite quite good(more luck that judgement) and I am considering making it again.

How many people, I wonder, repeat a brew over and over again, rather keep trying different styles. If your recipe has proved good enough to make more than once will you post it here?

I do both. I am always brewing something new. But I also like to keep some of my "house" beers on tap all the time because I like them so much.

In general I kept trying different recipies in each of the styles I like until I found one particularly to my own taste, and then focus on tweaking it. Occasionally I may try something different, usually for a particular purpose (such as a christmas brew or something a friend likes for their birthday) or if something I see on JBK appeals. Just recently i was persuaded into trying another style (a hefe) and so that is on the regular's list too now.

But I only brew once a month so with a few styles to spread across its not a fast process. I'm wondering about sorting out my older kit or perhaps making a much smaller setup to try stuff, particularly over winter when my outside garage setup is iced up..

Cheers
