Not sure if the flaked maize would be a great loss. Jim2, have you got a boiler that can handle 5 gallons? You'll need that for the DME, and if you have you could consider BIAB - basically a big net bag to mash the grains in.
No I don't have 5gallon pot. Why not boil it in a small pot concentrated and transfer it

Jim2, you seem determined to ignore the good advice people have offered in the other thread. I suggest you read through those suggestions, they are your best starting point.

I don't know if you have made anything yet, but you will learn a tremendous amount once you get started. Have a go.

If you want to advance things check out the BIAB section on here, and get a kettle and bag from 'The Malt Miller'. https://www.themaltmiller.co.uk/product ... t/boilers/

Good advice. We could spend years offering advice only to have more eccentric questions asked.

Perhaps Jim2 will go away if we strongly ignore the posts.

Whilst I can not send pm to members nor can I get an email or postal address for them I have reported them to the mods to no avail. Looks like this is one of those places where insults are made by keyboard warriors hidden behind computer screens with no fear of getting a snack in the mouth
