Sorry, complete novice problem here but here goes:
I would like to try making an Old Hooky. I have found a few variations but settled on the Wheeler version on Brewers Friend however I am struggling to understand the water content:
Batch size (fermenter): 23L
Boil Size: Pre 25.5L Post 16.5L
So now after the boil we have 16.5L in the FV after a 90 min boil
Pre Boil Gravity 1.039
Post Boil Gravity 1.060
OG 1.043
So how do we get from a post boil size of 16.5L with a gravity of 1.060 to a Batch size of 23L with an OG of 1.043
The recipe is here https://www.brewersfriend.com/homebrew/ ... y-wheeler-

Re: Help me understand this recipe
Where did you get the 16.5L and 1.060 from, I might be being blind but do not see it on the link you posted? Is it from your software that you United the recipe in?
The starting figures look right or very close to the book.

Ahh, apologies I imported it, clicked on edit and then 'More' and oddly it changed the parameters wich must be due to something I put in for my kit I can only guess. Below is what I was looking at and what confused me, but that can now be ignored. Cheers for the help
