Smoked Porter

Post by TC2642 » Mon Nov 26, 2007 12:35 am

I've been perfecting this beer and it's just too good too keep to myself! It's based on a Clive La Pensee recipe which I have altered but I think it's an award winning beer, for five gallons or 23 ltrs.

5Kg pale malt
1 Kg brown malt
1Kg Amber malt
125gms peat malt
125gms Fuggles 5% A.A. at start of boil

The yeast doesn't really matter for this beer since it's the malt profile that really comes though, I would use S04.

I have moderately hard water so I don't bother with any water treatment, I usually mash at around 67oC.

It's a very nice beer, but then I would say that wouldn't I.
