Blimey, that escalated.

Anyway, when I said 'leave it alone for a few days' I meant I won't take another gravity reading, it can just do what it's doing. FWIW, the bucket has a tap on so I can draw a bit off to take a reading with little chance of contamination.

I'll probably ferment it for 2 weeks, cold crash it for 48 hours, bottle/prime it, stick the bottles in the brewfridge at the same fermentation temp for about a week, then turn the fridge off and leave them sat in there for about a month before drinking (it's in the garage so nice and cool)

What's that, 2+0.3+1+4? ;-)

With trepidation of Guy's disgust, I would say that is a good timescale.

I suggest Guy reads my signature!

I was gonna start a new topic on some hops my neighbour has accquired for me through ebay as i forgot to get some before the lockdown.
However now that this thread has some momentum and everyone is getting along fine i thought keep it here as i will be `kit tinkering`with them during the lockdown.
As i say my neighbour got them on ebay but i find the description of them a little vague.
The description on the packet reads like this.

WARRIOR QUEEN

Resinous Spicy

Harvest 2016

Purpose: Aroma

Alpha Acid: 5.2%

Beta Acid: 2.9%

I was hoping, can anyone shed a little light on what syle of beer they will suit going from this description.
Thanx Wanus.

It looks like they're a Barth-Haas blend of mostly (all?) British hops, the name suggests a good chunk of it is Boadicea. Of which I'm not the biggest fan, but it will work in anything you'd use traditional British hops in - brown bitters, porter, stout, Belgian, but I probably wouldn't expose it in a golden ale.

Found this on Hopslist. May or may not be helpful!

Quick update. It's been sitting in the fermentation bucket and seems to have bottomed out at 1.014, so about 3.6% ABV. I was hoping it might go a bit lower but even after a bit of a wobble of the bucket and turning the heat up a notch to give the yeast a kick up the arse that seems to be where it's at. I'll cold-crash it tomorrow and bottle it this weekend.

Tasted decent, a nice session bitter (as someone above predicted it might be)

Did you consider a restarter? With a little more time you could get it lower

Yeah, I'm thinking about a restarter. Problem is sourcing yeast at the moment.

And another update. I bottled it at 1.014 in the end and after a couple of weeks in bottles, I couldn't resist a try last night. Really happy with it, needs more time conditioning but it's a nice, fresh, session bitter. Result!
