John Guest check valves 3/8"

Post by bandit » Sat Apr 07, 2007 9:43 am

I have a gas management board from Norm but I have a problem with back pressure from the Cornies which is forcing beer back through the board into other cornies.

Does anyone know where I can get these 3/8" check valves from?

I need 5

Only got one listed at the moment but Email him to see if he's got more. I got a couple from him.

But more importantly, if beer's gone through your regulator setup then it could be knackered. Have you done anything to flush it out / clean it ?

Was the beer level in the cornie above the bottom of the gas-in dip tube ? If you fill the cornies BELOW the dip tube level then you won't get the back pressure (potential) problem.

Thanks Dan, I didnt even see the inlet pipe that you mentioned and yes I probably did over fill the cornie. You know what its like you just want to get as much in as you can. Wont do that again.

You can cut them shorter to get more beer in :)

Remember next time though, always keep the beer level below the tube 8)

I've done this too.

Can't help but fill the cornies as close as possible to the top.

Here's what I'm looking at - but they say not for gas... I'll give it a go any way I think.

thats a new record - replying to a post nearly 4 years old!! good effort :D

but on a serious note, I got the exact same check valve from the harmony hut on ebay: http://stores.ebay.co.uk/The-Harmony-Hu ... =109606203 he's well recommended by the chaps on the brewing forum. He currently doesn't have one on ebay but I'm sure if you ask...
Plus I'm sure it was no more than £3 which is better than £8 plus!
