What does the panel think of theses?

3 feet to 6 feet and 500w to 3kw so it seems to cover most bases. My only wory is it doesn't say 'food safe'

Interesting find I wonder if anyone has used them for heating HT.

I've exchanged email with the suppliers and they tell me that they are made of Incaloy. Is this food safe, or should I stick to stainless steel?

Those look very interesting - I've not seen them before!

Incoloy is used in heating elements because it is corrosion resistant, so it isn't going to dissolve into your brew very readily. Its also used in domestic immersion heaters for hard water areas, and I use those in my boiler and HLT (so i hope I'm right!).

As I understand it the constituents are a nickel-iron-chromium alloy mixed with molybdenum, copper and titanium - I don't think there's anything scary about those in reasonable quantities, and we should be talking almost non-existant quantities.

If you had (say) a nickel allergy then perhaps more research may be worthwhile though, I've no idea how little is needed to trigger that sort of thing.

Cheers

most kettle elements are incalloy, so like kev says, there should be no problem there.

They look good, I've never seen them before. I googled them and came across a stainless steel one.

Its only 1000 watt though. These would work well for my idea of fixing an element in a lift of lid on a keg making it easier to clean, because It says can be used wet or dry.

I know someone who used them in his kit . . . they work OK . . . but 2KW isn't really enough for a 1BBL system  . . . Adding a couple more sorted that though
