Control Panel Build

Post by Cazamodo » Sat May 03, 2014 11:21 am

I'm slowly getting together everything to put my panel together.
So I thought I would start yet another build thread!

So far I have my panel.

400x500x200.
Should be big enough.

I have my relays from here
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1pc-JQX-40F-2 ... 628925993?

I also have a load of switches and pilot lights, and loads of wire, and spade terminals, and other bits. Although I think I will need more wire.

The problem with ordering everything bit by bit is that it takes ages to arrive. I have three LM338 circuits to come, along with 24v 3Amp dc power supplies, the idea being to have control over the mag pumps I plan to use.

I have a couple of float switches, some breakers, and Din rails plus terminals arriving soon.

At the moment I keep trying to plan the layout, but every time I do I either forget something or think of something new to add.
I didn't plan on bothering with the Amp/Voltmeters, but now I'm tempted, at least to have the Amp meter.

I will have to wait until next month to order the PID's and timer I'd like. Going with sestos for all of them.

I have a number of Powercon1 connectors and plugs already, but still looking for what to use as the main power in, which will be 32A.

I probably wont get started on the actual build until I have everything to hand, as I need to see everything before I can imagine it in place. I have a few sketches of the front of the panel, but it didnt look full enough so I'm sure I'm forgetting something.

Anyway I plan to keep this updated as I go along. Hopefully it shouldn't be too long before I can get some bits in place.

Yea I had planned to use those, but saw someone saying how they were probably not a good idea, which put me off, although as I cant find anything else, I may well go with these anyway. Especially as I cant remember why I was put off them in the first place...

Thats what Ill go for.

So far been making a list of what I still have to order before I can even get the inside layout started.

The list keeps growing!

Got a breaker, din rails, and terminal blocks through today. Plus hundreds of spade terminals, then realised its only the relays that I needed them for. Oops!

Need a good pair of crimpers too.
