Keg leak when disconnect attahced...

Post by 196osh » Sat Aug 23, 2014 6:19 pm

I have a keg which I am cleaning and I just went to pressurize it to force some cleaner through the line.

But it is leaking when the gas is attached, the keg holds pressure fine, but whenever I attach the gas to it there is a rushing noise which doesn't stop.

I've taken the post apart but am at my wits end, no idea what's wrong, and why it holds pressure when no disconnect is attached, but leaks when you attach gas.

This is the only keg that does it.

Any ideas?

Just one simple thing to check, are you sure the post on the keg is a "gas" post and not a liquid post, normally if you got them mixed up it would be very difficult to connect, but if its been forced in the past it is possible.

Or to check another way will a liquid (black) diso connect on this post?

Have you tried another grey disco on this post , if so does it have the same problem. If the problem still does exist is ther any visable signs of post damage?

Yeah everything is connected up fine.

I just figured out what the problem was... The O-Ring on the in post had a bite out it, just got the O-Ring from another keg post and replaced the old one no more leak.

Thank goodness for that. Cheers for the help.
