I've decided it's time to upgrade away from my 40l Buffalo boiler setup and have started pricing up options for a 50l stockpot.
I know I want a Thermometer, ball valve and sight glass to make my life easier but i'm a bit lost when it comes to elements!
I think the 2.4kw elements seem to be the popular choice, but will I want one or two for a 50l boiler?
Thanks in advance for the advice!
DA
(oh, and i'll have a 40l Buffalo Boiler with thermal cutout upgrade and ball valve for sale soon if anyone is interested!)

Re: Boiler Upgrades - Element choice?
i fitted a couple of the 10A elements from Backer in my 50L boiler. the second one is mainly to guard against the other cutting out which shouldn't be a problem if
kept clean.

Re: Boiler Upgrades - Element choice?
just my opinion but a sightglass may not be ideal for a boil kettle, a simple dipstick may be easier and cheaper, and wont be a pita to clean between boils.
you will probably Need only one element to maintain a nice boil however most folk fit 2 as it helps get the boil going a wee bit quicker and if you have a failure you have a backup so the brrewday can continue..
Just be aware not to plug and run both elements out of a single double socket outlet, plug em into seperate boxed outlets, or even from 2 distinct ring mains.
