Stainless steel milk churn fermenters

Anyone tried them? Thoughts? I'm going up to 80L batches and these look like a cheap-ish FV solution.

What size are you after? Those prices look pretty steep. You can generally get these things much cheaper from Italy on ebay — they're olive oil containers, really.

that's interesting, thanks. i'm looking for 100L fermenters or thereabouts. i was considering stockpots but i want an airtight seal to keep the nasties out.

Yeah, I tried fermenting in a stockpot and it wasn't working for me, so I bought a 25l fusti (as these things are called) on ebay. Here's a thread about it. Must confess I haven't got round to using it yet. It's a slightly different design from the ones you're looking at.

although they'll look less pretty when they're wrapped up in coolant tubing, soil cable and insulation wrap as i'm planning......
