Dissassembling plastic Waddington & Duval taps

Post by Kev888 » Wed Dec 17, 2014 11:49 am

I once used the black Waddington and Duval taps on my fermenters

I've seen very similar looking ones under other brand names including Youngs.

I stopped using them (in that role) some years ago as I didn't think you could disassemble them for cleaning (I realise not everyone does take them apart, but personally I choose to on all post-boil applications). However, I've just tried an old one and it is actually possible to yank it apart, not easy the first time but it gets easier - not sure if I'm damaging it.

It would be interesting to hear if anyone does routinely disassemble this kind of tap and if so does it survive?

Cheers
Kev
