Reading loads and watching lots of Youtube vidz has totally confused me. There seems to be two main ways to add a tap to the Coleman cooler I bought. Does this fellah look the right sort of thing?

Yeah that will do mate.when i did mine i used a tank conecter with the middle filled out so a 15mm copper pipe will slide through and fitted a ball valve and a strainer.the tap in the pic will do the same job and many pre made mash tuns from shops have these fitted

ive seen a few mods of coleman boxes and they have a few different drains fitted already, whats yours like?

if big enough using the existing drain hole (if any) would be preferable i guess, so what size is yours, wikipedia under 'bsp threads' has a lookup table to convert diameters in mm to the equivalent bsp thread size, the only one ive memorised is 20-21mm = 1/2" bsp ;)

Then consider the depth of the hole, and consider if the threaded barrel if the fittings selected will reach through ok?
