s/s s30 valve

Has any1 had any problems with the s/s s30 valve?, i had the bass valve and upgraded to the s/s valve and when i had a brew in gas kept ecaping through the rubber valve.not sure if it reset itself so all the gas escaped but must say i had no problems with the brass valve

Pull it and wrap a shed load of ptfe tape round the thread and an extra bit around the hilt, also dry run the nut up the fitting (pre ptfe wrap) to ensure it spins up freely and isnt locking prematurely, SS wont give with a bit more oomph like brass will

Cheers Fil. Which part is the hilt?,is it the part on the inside?,

i have changed seal from the white washer to the black one and that seems better.ill try the ptfe aswell

by hilt i mean the bottom of the flange with enough ptfe wrapped round it will help seal up the lid hole with minimal pinching force pinch too tight with the lock nut and you can risk fracturing the lid.
