Tap blocking up with hops on boiler

Post by gobuchul » Sun Mar 01, 2015 11:20 am

While draining the wort after the boil I had a problem with the hops and trub blocking the tap.

This resulted in a very slow process and also wort left behind in the boiler.

Is it worth putting some kind of filter/strainer over the inside of the tap? Or will this just block as well?

Any suggestions are very welcome.

Thanks.

Have a look at the copper kettle website homepage top right corner brewing video fitting the boiler with a plumbing stick easy . I use a plumbing stick with slots cut underneath never had a blockage.
