I have recently completed my 100 litre boiler with 2 elements and stainless tap and made a new hexagonal manifold hop stopper. I have previously made rectangular manifolds for both mash tun and boiler albeit smaller.
my problem came when I did my first brew last week almost no flow!
the design was based on one I saw on this forum with a hexagonal design with saw cuts around the side of the pot and a diameter piece without saw cuts with a middle tee leading to the tap.
Following the non filer I took out the manifold and have removed half of the hexagon and it still does not work even with water.
I must be doing something wrong but can't think what. Does all parts of the manifold need saw cuts or is it OK to have one side without cuts. In desperation I may go back to my previous rectangular model just with longer pipe to make it bigger. Any ideas?
Hop stopper for 100l litre boiler

I think a picture would help us picture the problem that you're having if you could upload one?
When you eventually drained the boiler were all the cuts blocked up with hop and trub gunk? Maybe your design is ok but just needs a fine 40 mesh over to stop the hops blocking the cuts?
