How many elements?

I'm looking for a stainless steel boiler, not sure if I want 50 or 70 litres. My current set up is 25l so will need new kit which ever I go for. I've got my eye on one 50 litre boiler which comes with a single 2.4kw element. This is what I have in my present, kit so it seems slightly underpowered? Surely 2 would be better?

From what I've read of similar setups, 2 will get that volume to boil faster, although you'll probably turn one off so the boil isn't too vigorous. Although I defer to someone with experience with these volumes, I only have 40l Buffalo...

1 use a 33L plastic bucket with 2 2.2KW elements (from £5 kettles) I only had 1 for the 1st few brews and it was painfully slow to get to the boil.

That's really helpful, thank you both. I've e mailed homebrewbuilder.co.uk aka Mr Lard who has helpfully said that they wouldn't recommend going above 50l with one element. They don't have 50l in stock unfortunately which I've decided is what I'd like size wise. I'm sure they'll have some more in stock soon in any case. I guess two is the way forward.

I'm looking for 70l thermo mash and a 100 litre electric boiler but it seems the most expensive of a few options

I think it deffo pays to shop around for the component parts and the pot.
