1/2 tubing and no chill cube/IC
1/2 tubing and no chill cube/IC
Can anyone give me ideas of where I can get 1/2 tubing to connect my HLT mash tun and boiler? Looking for a cheap place if possible.
I'm also looking for a no chill cube or a cheap IC (my boiler is 50l but I will only be making 20-23l batches).
Thanks for any help
Rhys

I got mine off eBay for 3.25 a metre

Cool, that seems a very good price, just sent them a message to ask what curing method is used on that piping

Believe others have used it on this forum with no issues. Never new there was different curing methods as long as it's food safe ?

As far as I understand the two main types are peroxide cured or platinum cured

Whether it makes much difference in practice though, is probably debatable, the tubing i'm using at the moment, is apparently platinum cured.

I bought it from a guy selling it on http://www.thehomebrewforum.co.uk/forum ... f380b&f=29
but i don't think they're selling it anymore afraid.
Whether platinum vs peroxide actually makes any difference I'm not sure, I just read there's less leachables with platinum

Advice regarding no chill cubes. As ypur pot is shorter you may get a standard ic to fit but with my 100 litre jobber only half the coil would be in the wort so not cooling well and wasting water

I'll take my chances then I know others use it and if it's declared as food safe then all gravy

Yeah, i just got a price for the platinum cured one they sell, unless i'm missing something it's a tenner a metre heh, which is too rich for me
