Hi Guys
Just finishing off my setup, and was after some advice on Pumps and Plate Chillers
I'm considering getting this pump
http://powellbrewing.co.uk/index.php?ro ... duct_id=72
and this chiller
http://powellbrewing.co.uk/index.php?ro ... uct_id=105
I will be cooling down brew lengths of around 60L-70L
Does anyone know where I can get the same cheaper, or better for the same price. Of am I going overkill on this?
I know that some people will suggest immersion chillers, but for various reasons I'm going for a plate chiller.
Cheers

You won't need a pump to get the wort flowing through that chiller, gravity will do it. You may however need the pump anyway but don't buy it just for that purpose.

I'll need the pump anyway, and my boil kettle will almost definitely be lower than where my FV is.

Brew builder and BrewUK do the the same 30 plate chiller cheaper...
Re: Pump and Plate Chiller advice
Just seen that the Malt Miller do it for £85.
Brew Builder don't have any in stock, and Brew UK are a little more expensive than the Malt Miller.
£85 I'm happy with. Just need to do some more pump research now.

I have that chiller and have no issues with it. With some tuning of the flows I can get the wort to come out a couple of degrees above ground water temperature. Just make sure you use a good cleaner with it (PBW is unrivalled for this, but expensive), and a filter to avoid it getting clogged with hops.
For the pump I'd be looking for one that you can pump through boiling wort to help sanitise it before touching anything on the cold side.
