Hi, I currently use a 6" bazooka as the filter in my (converted cool box) mash tun and it works perfectly. I'm scaling up to a 160L brew length so will be using roughly 4x the amount of grain, i.e. about 18kg in a 100L cool box. Would a 12" bazooka still be viable with this amount of grain?
Obviously I could build a manifold or similar but the advantage of the bazooka is that it just screws onto the tap fitting so it's very simple.
Cheers,
Nick

I'd say yea but how you gonna stop it collapsing
Re: Bazooka Filters in Cool Box Mash Tuns
Well yes, that's my concern. I don't really want to get the bazooka, put the mash on and then find it's crushed under the weight.

You could try sliding some 2 inch drain pipe over the filter that would protect it from the weight of the mash.
maybe cut a load of slots in the plastic pipe first, just an idea.
