In case anyone is interested in connecting pipe to the homebrew keg outlet spout (not budget barrel), I've measured the diameter of the spout on my King Keg 1" drum tap, and it varies between 17.52 and 17.89mm. I've looked everywhere on the internet for this measurement and couldn't find it anywhere, so I though I would post it.
The spout is obviously not quite uniform as a result of the manufacturing process; I want to just connect a piece of pipe on the end to dispense from the pressure barrel into my glass - an 8" length of food-grade tubing from ebay (16mm I.D.) will suffice.
King Keg or Drup Tap Spout Diameter
Re: King Keg or Drup Tap Spout Diameter
Just to confirm;
I've ordered some 16mm I.D. 21mm O.D. food-grade silicone tubing from eBay. Having now tried in on the tap, it fits like a glove on the end of the tap spout, so will be ideal to dispense beer into the bottom of the glass. Pretty easy to get the tubing on, but it's never going to fall off on its own. Should anyone require a more permanent fixture of tubing, a jubilee clip will hold this diameter of tubing very securely in place.
