Dear All,
I recently purchased a small standard fridge (proline) about the size of a washing machine for my 2 corny kegs and fortunately they fit in really snugly with no amendments required, not even inside the door! Anyhow, as you can imagine, I'm fast becoming pretty sick of taking the kegs in and out of the fridge every time I want to connect up to the gas and pour a beer!
I'm not really bothered about having a full scale kegerator with taps on the ouside because I don't mind opening the fridge door to pour a pint! It doesnt seem too much of an effort! And anyhow the fridge is duel use! I put some stuff behind the kegs! The plan is to fit the gas line either through the fridge seal, or perhaps drill into the fridge! I think my line is 5 16ths! Does anyone have some recommendations on the best way to proceed with this and whatever bits and bobs I might need?
Is it best to run it through the seal or through the outer metal wall of the fridge? The main thing is not to let the cold out.
Cheers
Joe

Re: Kegerator (ish) project / gas line into fridge
I have my gas lines going through the wall of the fridge, you just have to be careful that you don't drill though an area where the cooling pipes are or where there are any electrical wires.
The cooling coils pipes are usually only in the back. There would be an electric wire running from behind the fridge to the thermostat and light.
I have various holes in my fridge with gas lines and beer lines going in and out and haven't noticed a problem with temperature leakage.

ok do you line it with anything? A rubber washer type thing or something?

I haven't lined my holes with anything, the holes are just the right size to get the line through with a tight fit.
