PID Temperature adjustment

Post by fordpopular » Sun Oct 04, 2015 7:17 pm

Just bought an Inkbird PID to control my HLT http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00HVA23CK/r ... TE_3p_dp_1

I think it is the same as the sestos ones as the connections are the same also got a pt100 and SSR
I have set it up for the pt100 and tested it in a glass of hot water but i get a temperature difference of nearly 3 degrees against my other 2 thermometers
I see there is a setting to adjust the displayed temperature by simply adding or subtracting an amount of degrees is this how it is calibrated or am I missing something :?

Yeh that's the way, but it's worth turning the unit off and then on to see that's its displaying the right temp/ but I can't remember if you change it with out turning on and off if it sees its been changed or not in the rest of the software.
If you see what I mean.

On the Sestos menu setting, SC is for Sensor Calibration.

If similar to the sestos pid check out the auber pid manual pdf https://www.google.co.uk/url?sa=t&rct=j ... lerfWAalnQ

its a clearer read than the tables printed on the sestos/inkbird manual sheet..

rather than test against a thermometer in water perform a 2 point calibration test using ice/water for a close to 0C test and boilling water for a close to 100C test, the thermapen pdf details testing pages 14-16 iirc https://www.google.co.uk/url?sa=t&rct=j ... Cl0f92OQ9Q

test the pt100 and your thermometers ;)
ist update for months n months..
