Here are the photos of the assembled drain and tap.

This one shows where I cut the base under the lip and that the pipework fits through without a problem on the 80l pot.

And the user's eye view :)

Next stage is a leak test and clean-up.

20/21mm. I got mine from My Tool Shed, who seemed the best value.

I leak-tested the tun at the weekend and sadly found a couple of the joints weeping a little, so I'll be taking them apart again and being a bit more generous with the PTFE tape next time.

I have seen Mr Lard mentioned a few times with regards to thermpots.

Is he a home brew shop, catering equipment supplier or what ? I cant find him on the internet.

I am very impressed with the conversion and pondering if I should change from my floating mash tun to a thermopot.

One small picky point........ could do with a cover plate, held in place with four small self tapping screws to cover the hole . Not for cosmetic reasons but to stop you slicing your fingers when you curl your fingers underneath and move it around the brewery.
Quite envious though.
Cheers.

Many thanks for the quick answer.
I didn't realise The Home Brew Builder was Mr Lard.
I have looked at his site quite a few times, just like a kid with a toy catalogue.
Cheers.
