Beer line cleaning bottle sprayer setup

Post by NorthEastBrewer » Mon Jan 11, 2016 2:58 pm

Hi all,

I'm looking for a bit of help so I don't go buying things that I can't use [thats normally how I do it with all things brewing related!]

I'm trying to make a beer line cleaning bottle setup similar to that shown in the YT video below:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4YK1-7mHk48

I found a previous thread [ viewtopic.php?f=7&t=54465 ] where The Dribbler was making and selling these at a decent price but it doesn't look like he has made any for a little while.

So, I have found a standard 5l hand pump sprayer which will fit the job for around £7 but it is the connections I need on the end of the tubing that I can't quite figure out. I can't seem to find the parts mentioned in the YT vid so am trying to look at other ways.

If I buy a 1/4" Bsp Taper 1/4" Bore Pcl Male Screw Tailpiece [online search as 'Draper 25798'] which would be connected to the hand pump sprayer tubing, would a Corny keg ball lock standard outpost screw directly onto the Draper 25798 1/4" Bsp taper thread?

If i'm barking up the wrong tree, does anyone know how I could do this?

If anyone has one of the ones from The Dribbler, fancy posting how they are made up?

Cheers,
Barny

Just get one of these off of eBay

There called carbonation caps, just make sure you get the new model with the hose barb.

Ahhh yes - I have got a Carbonation Cap [the original one without the barb] so that'll be useless.

I'll buy one of the metal caps with a barb. This might be a daft question, but what do I connect the cap to in order to get it cleaner to flow through the beer line?

Thanks,
Barny

Spray bottle hose to carbonation cap barb. Carbonation cap disconnect connection to black corny disconnect. The new model connects to both grey and black disconnects.

Ha, I realise that my question was indeed daft. I was somehow trying to figure out how to connect the cap to the pressure bottle using the thread... forgetting that there was actually a hose coming from the bottle too. Thanks for the help!
