Basic fv and fill level

I'm looking at getting one of these

If after filling it if I put a torch or bright light on one side ill be able to see it's fill level ?

I made one of those into a boiler and you can see the level without a torch.

Worth calibrating it when you get it just to double check. I know the old Boots FVs had graduations on them but they were pretty inaccurate to say the least. But some water and a bathroom scales should do the job.

ive changed all my small fermenters to these, for 4 and postage was well under £30 , they actually hold over 35 l , and you can be a lot rougher with them, i was constantly worried the 'proper' fermenters would split when i picked them up.
