Yeh I got one of these, in my box of tricks, it does work but it has lied to me a few times. That's it's either stuck on or off, and the amp meter that I have has shown something different at the time, but I can't remember what it said at the time, and I can't get in the box of tricks to tell if it's got hot, when I made the box of tricks I should have got a fan to help cool it.
There again I may have got a duff chinky bit of crap that does get stuck sometimes, but it did work for me last time I used it. I have one 3KW pigtail element which I use to boil 60-70lts in a Thermopot, and I use a Pid to get it to strike temp or set it what I want the wanted to be. Eg getting to almost boiling without having to watch it. Then switch over
