Turned out the locking nut on the rear of my beer tap shank had disintegrated and the coiled up length of beer line fell off. The nut had just sheared in two.
Thank god I hadn't got a full keg attached at the time as I always leave the gas bottle turned on
I'm just thinking, I have been using the fridge to crash cool. Do you think the cold has made the nut brittle? It looks to be made of some sort of alloy as opposed to stainless steel.
