Looking for a nice accurate NTC probe for use with a simple digital readout. Needs to be 10k (Inkbird style). I've tried a couple of different Chinese ones and they were useless - non-linear and way off (+/- 5-8 deg C). Anyone care to recommend a supplier fleabay or otherwise that they would trust? Needs to be waterproof for my mash tun.

cannot inkbird supply replacements/alternatives? Dont shout at me for this but there is an active inkbird rep (or was) over on thbf who hosts give aways etc but has also helped with a few support issues..
Mark aka Mrlard, The homebrewbuilder sells NTC probes and if it proves unsuitable you shouldnt have any problem returning it..
It its a budget option your after lots of ebay ads specify stc1000 compatibility, SO.... if you can get hold of an stc1000 probe and test it reads ok, that should get you there.

Try this site, AT11 looks suitable - http://www.atcsemitec.co.uk/at-thermistors.html
NTC are not very linear so the best option is to get a fairly narrow range type and calibrate your equipment at the temp it will be used.
Better option is a PID and PT100 which are low cost with decent accuracy.

Thanks - you've confirmed what I thought - that a cheap temp readout really doesn't exist. So the alternative is, as recommended, another Inkbird calibrated at 66 degC but just used as a readout rather than controller.

Inkbird do a PID with PT100 for £20. I doubt the sensor will be the best but you could upgrade this later.
I paid around £20 for a quality German PT100 from Southern Temp Sensors around 4-5 years ago which has worked without issue.

+1 for Southern Temp Sensors, I had 2 NTCs and 1 PT100 custom made in 2011/2012 and still working fine
