   OMFG! Hip, I think the genius is rubbing off on me here! I'm charging my hoover!!!

I was studying the two bits of tin. One thing led to another. I've pulled one out and turned it upside down. Adjusted its position a little bit and bingo! It's touched the receptor and we have lift off! F**k their thirty quid, plus postage!

That bloody thing's sat there, for months, as I've miserably chased piles of Dog hair with a dust pan. Half hours time, I shall suck the lot up in one joyous sweep

Don't really see my bodge lasting till the end of the week, mind. But, once I get a solderer here, it'll be a piece of piss to stick on a bit of bent tin, better replicating the original.

Made my day this has! =D>

Phone chargers? Dunno. This has all fried my head a bit, to be honest. I've asked my old mate to get in touch with me. He'll know. You two'd get on. Talk to eachother about amps, resistors, capacitors and all the other stuff that makes my eyes cloud over.

He'd show ye his Tessler Coil

Now, I think I deserve a beer .....

I can't quite read the label but it appears to be an AC powered one from what I can see.

 Okay. That's it. F**k it. I'll give this thing to me geeky mate to play with. He'll probably make a nuclear generator with it, or something.

Now, if anyone knows what I Do need, just to turn my blanket off at 24C? And where I might send for one, without the seller wanting three times the cost of the item, in postage, just because I'm in Eire? I'd be much obliged.

Thankyou.

Meanwhile ..... Hip! I've just hoovered the room And got my BTO Ringers app back!!! Am I one happy f**king bunny?! Image

This ^^^

Ditch, does it show 110V AC and 240V AC against that "Power" writing in the unit ? That's what I think I can see.

If so then what's correct, the box or the unit ? :)

A link to the exact model you purchased should help but I reckon you've got a 230V AC model there so a mains connection would be required to power it. Don't hook anything up though, I'd get your tech mate to sort it.

Andy; I've really just lost all interest in the thing now, to be honest with ye. It's Chinese, so That's a f**king bad start with me, anyway.

I want one of these AT / ST what ever they are's that everybody else has. Preferably without the fried f**king rice.

On the top of this thing ~ the part in the photo ~ it has various tickable boxes. " Model " is ticked, in blue biro (FFS!) as " MH1210 A ". (Has further choices up to F).

" Power " is ticked as " 12 V ".

And now, I'm gonna put it away for the last time today. And wait till Dean O Geeko surfaces and chuck it at him. I just can't stand photographing the bloody thing or scrutinising it any more.

Link to where I got it? Difficult. I bought it off someone on here. I genuinely have no idea who. Can't even remember why they said it was no use to them. They certainly never said it'd be no earthly use to me either.

What ever. What goes around .....

OK, sounds like a 12V model then. If your mate has a spare 12v adapter then he'll sort it.

Ditch you have a 12 volt model they are available in 12, 120 and 230 volt format but here is what I said about this models manufacturer elsewhere.

Is there any difference in quality between the STC 1000's made by various manufacturers? I ask this because the one that I have installed in my new keezer lasted about four days before the thermocouple started to give false readings resulting in the STC calling for cooling when it was already cool enough.

So now I have fitted the new controller this time one with STC 1000 written on the front and it works perfectly and according to the MIN/MAX thermometer I put inside it is keeping the temperature at exactly the 10° I set it at. Whereas the original one deviated by a couple of degrees. My advice is never buy one that is made by "SHENZEN MEIHANG TECHNOLOGY" and buy one that has STC 1000 written on it. It seems that the Chinese are now ripping off the Chinese

My advice is sling it in the bin they are a load of rubbish
