STC 1000
Re: STC 1000
I have found one on e-bay they have sold over 1000 and are branded Elitech and STC 1000 . I cant help to ask can the STC 1000 be wired in direct from the fridge and heater . Everyone seems to use blocks and wire tails . is there a reason for this am i missing something important. Am i in danger to wire the two terminals to blue heat and cool then the two brown wires to there respective places and the feed wire from the 13 amp socket to the in terminals and put the earths all into a block. My garage is detachted so i wont burn down. I could do with a new garage.
Re: STC 1000

the stc has
2 x probe terminals - connect the sensor
2 x power in terminals provide live and neutral from a power in lead/source (no earth)
2 x cooling relay terminals and
2 x heating relay terminals.
connect earth and neutral for both you fridge and heater dirrectly to the power in earth and neutral.
that is earth to earth and neutral to neutral NOT earth to neutral

feed live from the power in to one side of each of the cooling and heating relays
connect the other side of the cooling relay to the live/brown feed for the fridge
connect the other side of the heating relat to the live/brown wire for your heating.
Done - a leggo brick makes it easy
dont attempt to secure more than a single wire in the stc1000 terminals imho they are not upto the job. it wouldnt be safe
3 x leggo connector strips for a quid in the £shop round here!! spend pennies to make it a 5min wirring job, without it it will be frustrating and bound to fail..

The house fridge thermostat buggered up, lucky to gave a spare STC 1000 knocking about for a temporary solution until we get a new one
Re: STC 1000
Well ive brewed my first 3 X 10 gallon brews using my Brewfridge with amazing results I am so pleased with the beer. I have also changed my malt selection to Lager base malt with Munich and Vienna and a tiny amount of Caragold or Caramalt. I now use Magnum as a base hop pellet in all my brews and a lowish AA hop for the 15 min additions. Thanks to everyone who helped me with the wiring of the fridge. I will never be without one thats for sure. Happy Brewing
