Every bottle brush I've had has been rubbish. Hard to get in to the 'corners' with them and they invariably start to lose their nylon inside the bottles.
I got this from Dave Lines Big Book of Brewing. Piece of dowel with a piece of kitchen scrubby glued to the top.....I used one of those that has a sponge base and a thin layer of harder scrubby material on top. Just need a piece about 4cm square and you're away.

Been using this for not only bottles but 2l flasks, it is really good. Some of my old pint bottles are a little tight necked so feeding the flappy cleaning paddles (came over a bit Top Gear that) into the bottle takes a bit of effort but once in and working it beats the pants of brushes, which don't clean the bottom's of bottles well at all. This is particularly good for crusty ones that have been forgotten about. Mr Dripping's comments reflect my experience, if it does yours then this is the real deal. The assistance of a cordless drill makes a chore a little more bearable, or you could just keg everything. :D
