Are yours misting up and stopping functioning or is it just the fact that it's misting up. Mine has done the same from new but it tends to clear during the brew day as the unit warms up.

Mine steams up just a bit at the bottom but it doesn't prevent me from seeing what it says.

Misting up. It's a visual issue only. Pretty minor, but worth fixing.

I've seen at least one report where the misting coincided with malfunctioning - though that may have been coincidence I guess. Either way, I'd be unwilling to routinely ignore any significant moisture in the electronics 'unless' the manufacturers were able to guarantee there could be no longer-term effects (such as contacts corroding or being bridged).

I have asked our supplier how did they repair it and it seems to us that they only tightened the surface without letting the moisture going out of the unit.

We’ll replace you the control unit and send you a completely new one.
So I'm waiting for them to get in touch again to arrange collection.

As for the DIY solution, you must be joking surely after spending well over a grand??
Wow, that's amazing, so Speidel have told you their supplier has done nothing but tighten the control unit up? Is that for all of them sent back do you know?

Mine arrived back today, out of the blue, and if that's all they've done I'm not going to be impressed.....

Crikey, for the money these things cost, I wouldn't have thought there would be as many issues!

I tend to agree, though to be fair there is always the potential for issues to escape detection with any new product - you can test the product conscientiously, but some things only come to light when lots of them have met lots of real people in lots of real-world situations.

What makes the difference in my mind is how quickly the manufacturer identifies things that are caused by design or manufacturing deficiencies (rather than isolated or random incidents, misuse and so on), and how well and painlessly they then address them from the customer's perspective. That can range from complete denial to next day replacement/resolution.

They should just change its name to 'Braumister'. Then nobody could complain.
