@haz66

Could you give us an idea what the firms prices where like for the tanks and how easy they were to deal with as a non biz wanting to buy from them?

cheers ebrewer

Its the Greenhouse Brewery :)
Unfortunately the greenhouse belongs to the Father In Law, he`s got 4 more the same size, ideal size for a brewery though,
i thought that if i needed to go any bigger then i would ask him if i could build a big shed at the bottom of his garden as he
has plenty of room, i bet his garden is a good half acre and he only uses about 3/4 of it for his flowers and vegatables.

I`m upscaling with the plan to sell it to local pubs, 4 of which have already agreed to trial it,
but the setup wont be big enough to go full time, i`ll upscale futher if the demend is there though.

I`ve spent the day tinkering today, i went up to the Father In Laws and cut the lids off the last 2 tanks,
These 2 are the Mash Tun

Then next up was wiring up one of the pumps and giving it a try out.
It works a treat :D

Then i thought i`d better give the temp controller a try.
This is it from the front

And from the back.

And now in action with a fan heater plugged into the outlet socket, this again
was working like a good un.

George Beck is a top guy. I got my two 100lt bins from him.
He was out when i turned up to collect. So i phoned him and he said - just leave the cash under a brick!
Of course i left the money. Never know when you might to use him again.

Useful link for those looking to upsize - George Beck
Check out the beers we have for sale @ Mix Brewery

When i went to pick my tanks up off George he was there the first time, but the 2nd visit
he just left them outside for me to pick up, but forgot to tell his wife i was coming so i was greeted
by a barking dog, but thankfully it was a friendly thing :D ,
He`s a really nice guy though, very pleasent to deal with.

Work started today on actually clearing out the shed ready for converting, 4 trips to the local recycling centre later,
and its now free of all cluter, the next job is the floor, its quite uneven so i`m gonna put a 50mm skim of concrete down
over the entire floor just to make it all nice and level, just need to get my hands on my mates cement mixer :D

My assistant :D

And again

Started to build the studding this weekend, and to improve the carbon footprint of the build i bought some reclaimed 3x2 timber
off Ebay for the stud work, well really it was Yorkshire thrift :D , how expensive is timber

I knocked out the blocked up window, this took ages as it was blocked up with Accrington brick
and a morter to match, the bugger was solid to say the least, but a big hammer and an hour later,
i also fitted a grill that i made some time ago.

Well done Hazz, that's coming on grand and the parsimonious approach is well up my street, good lad. I can't think of anything better than supplying 4 or 5 good local pubs with a few Firkins or Pins.

The SS vessels are a bargain, got a mate who's a SS fabricator and homebrewer - cogs are whirring......

I pass A59 Barnoldswick turn off most Fridays, be good to see whats getting knocked up there.

P.s is that a nice Marin, hung up - getting dusty?
