I could be wrong but they look like the ones made in laminated plastic - a machine engraves through the top/black laminate into the white layer below. The way things were normally done before that was to engrave or punch into a metal plate, fill/cover in paint and then wipe/polish off leaving just the embossed bits filled.

Don't think i've seen anything else that gives quite such a traditional/3D effect unfortunately, but a while back I saw a key-cutter-shoe-repairer type place that also did engraved dog-tag plates - somewhere like that may have potential for low volumes.

Theres also letraset covered in varnish/laquer. Or you can print onto transparencies - if you print it mirrored you can seal/glue the printed side face down to protect it.

Cheers

I want to get some 27 labels made for the panel, apart from engraved trophy labels and the dreaded dymo embossed label maker, anyone one know of any lable makers giving the same appearance of these ones http://theelectricbrewery.com/control-p ... -1?page=14

Cheers
I just purchased a simple labelling machine from Lidl for less than £20, its made by Brother and its called a P-touch 1230PC, it produces a laminated label and various coloured tape cartridges are available. It connects to your PC so any font on your PC can be used, the cartridges aren't cheap at about the same price as the unit

I am currently using it to label my kegs with a strong adhesive tape cartridge

Thanks for the replies, very interesting.

The guy from Canada has emailed me back with a price of $48.50 inc postage for the exact ones as mentioned on the electric brewery website, which as Kev has kindly pointed out is a laminated plastic engraving by the looks of things. If I went down this route I would have to think carefully if i needed any other labels (for future expansion).

Now I know what the labels are I found this on fleabay http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/290659310397? ... 97.c0.m619 although I would be interested in other suppliers (thanks Alix). At least with a UK company any further labels would be easy to source.

The Brother machine looks like an interesting option tho, not only for this build but for labelling up other stuff ie kegs, hops etc and the dreaded "Sight Tube Conundrum" of how to label one and make it look something. Only trouble the ones on flea bay are £40ish.

looks like a very solid job - it almost has to be at 25kg! Plenty of space in there for almost anything.

Yep, plenty of space for a few additional extra bits, one of which will be a variable power supply for the boiler element.

I`m going to mark out everything over the next few days to make sure everything looks ok, strangely I`m abit apprehensive on the first cut, similar sort of feeling before making a first cut on a thermo pot, totally irrational thinking but still apprehensive.

Still waiting for the "tag" sign quotes to arrive + a few components, although the majority of them are now here.

What components you waiting for?

I got 5 Rex C100 pids spare and the same amount of ssrs if thats any use.

After finding such a nice home for everything - I hope you are going to build it properly with
din rail, terminal blocks & jumpers etc. rather than bodging together connector blocks with no fuses which seems to be quite a popular set up on builds I have seen on here

The components I`m waiting for (based on the kit part list of the Electric Brewery are as follows:-

1 x Large Heat Sink - still to order, 2 x 40amp SSR, 1 x Red LED light, 2 x Yellow LED light, some sort of 5v transformer, spiral wrap + cable ties, possible a few additional tools required as well. Oh am waiting for a 2 x terminal blocks (HK supplier sent 15A instead of 25A ones!

The build is going to follow the exact instructions as the EB website, unless anyone can suggest additional improvements?

Hope not,a lot of the stuff is 120V,unless your going to transform it down, and the 240v stuff is sourced by 2 phases making the switching a bit more complex. And to be honest looking at the layout its a bit of a mess, much neater to use din rail mounted relays, terminals etc

I could show you quite a few ways to better the eb build problem is I am in brisol and you are miles away

Yep sorry forgot to mention, all the components are the 240v equivalent items, using the instructions from this page to wire things up http://www.theelectricbrewery.com/forum ... hp?t=25393

I have din rail but will need a few more sockets for the relays + will invest in some din rail terminals.

Thx for the link to the expert electrical website.

Yep Bristol to East Kent is a bit of a trek ...Pity

No worries as for name tags check out the rubber stamp company!

Also look at 3 phase contactors as a good alternative to big relays.
