Rob - this is awesome! Love the brewery and the bar.
I've got a duster house log cabin too - mine's 3x4m though so a little smaller. At present its 75% 'shed stuff'. I plan on getting another (smaller) shed for those bits and fitting out the log cabin to be a proper brewery. You've inspired me to paint the inside too - yours looks great!
As grumpydev was I'm interested to know how you plan to get water to and from the brewery. Are you putting in a blue potable water plastic pipe? And what sort of diameter for drainage? My route back to the house drain isn't so easy.......
Also is your electrics cable (steel wire armoured I presume) buried deep? I did my own electrics (with the help of an electrician friend) but the swa is just on top of the soil (I figured it was much safer than a permanent extension lead....!)
Good luck with the rest of the build.

18" down is what the regs says ,with a layer of sand immediately above the cable, then marker tape before back filling, even if it is swa.

You can run it above ground high up on a Caternary wire. Which is basically a wire cable hung between the main house and the shed, with the armoured cable cable-tied to it.
All underground drainage needs to be in Orange upvc 100mm diameter or larger. You don't want to be putting the 1" 1/2 plastic waste pipes underground.

if your going caternary theres no need for swa,but you need to ensure the cable is uv resistant and the minimum height is 3 meters.

Thanks Jonny & BB. Yes, will be using the blue pipe for the feed, and as superccoper has said the drainage will be 100mm pipe. I have to get around to digging the 13-14m long trench for all this sometime soon!
Until then I will be using the hose connected to the garden tap!

The electrics is supplied by some heavy duty swa cabla. It has a bit of a route from the house consumer unit … it runs down the outside wall, then is buried under a path and then into the garage (which is where the majority of the run in), then out from the garage wall with about a 1 metre run, above ground, and into the side of the cabin. This has all been part P certified.

Managed to do a water run test over the weekend, to see if the system was wall still in working order and no leaks, and to familiarise myself again with it all after the 6-7 month layoff - It all seemed to work well! I would have possibly done a brew, but the yeast I'm trying to rouse after 10 months on a slant seems to be struggling so will have to order some and do a proper brew this coming weekend.

Still no hood fitted, but the extractor seemed to do a good gob of sucking up the steam and I didn’t notice any condensation, although I did only boil for 10 minutes.

And on the bar side, the sliding dartboor door has been finished!

Probably the best brewery/bar combo I've ever seen on any forum anywhere!!

Thanks Jonny and the madhippy - an overhead wire might be the solution - I'd never thought of that!
(Sorry rob, not trying to hijack the thread..)
Rob - you said you got the control unit made for you - looks amazing - is it from the Electric brewery in the states or something similar?

Not quite. You still have to perforate it with hundreds of 1mm holes.

Cracking brewery, Rob. =D> You'll be the most popular man in Northamptonshire.

The control panel is pretty much a rip off of the Electric Brewery one, with just a few slight differences and some different components, but I did make it myself.

Thanks.... And the sister in law started on the perforation process yesterday!

This is brilliant!! I'd need to move to a bigger house to fit something like this in. Hmmm.... :-k
