It was a mistake on the German side which they are rectifying per post, I was speaking to the lady yesterday and they have no issue with posting out the replacement lids.

It would appear that might be their MO, get the stuff fired out to fill the order with whatever lids they have on, claiming they are filling your order as placed, and then the clean up later by sending out the proper lids, at least it's what's happened with the Irish order and with another Polish homebrew order which is where the idea came from originally, one of our Polish members first came up with the idea.

I think it might be worthwhile.

The first thing I think we need to do is get a total number we want, then work out where we are going to have them delivered to. Unless anyone central has a very big shed they might have to go to Eccentricdyslexics field.

This post has been running less than 24 hours and there is already a total of approx 250 kegs, and that will rise when some people put numbers against there names.

Once we commit to the order then we can think about how we get them distributed once in the country.

We also need to think about money. Somebody is going to have to pay for these kegs which is likely to cost in the region of £4,000. I can put it on my Credit Card, but if I was doing that I think I'd want them delivered to me, but I'm not very central so that doesn't help much.

Would people be prepared to send there money to a member up front so we had collected the money before we put the order in. If we could do that I would happily order the lot and have them delievered somewhere. My concern over it would be ordering 4,000 quids worth of stuff and then it being stolen before I'd got my money back.

There are a few things we need to think about before we do this I think.

I think that is the way to go, all monies in before the order, once paid then there's no backing out.

Well I'm no mathematician but lets think about this logically...

There's roughly 7600 members on Jims, lets say for sake of argument that we all want 10 units... that's 76000 cornie kegs!

That should get us a decent discount!!

I've been wanting to get started with cornies for a while, so this sounds like an ideal opportunity... I'd take 6.

The logistics in Ireland are a bit different, we have an umbrella organisation called Beoir, which to all intents and purposes has similarities to CAMRA,( without the beards and silly cask ale rules :)) and the trust level as a result is higher than a large grouping of randomers on here. As a result, if you want my help I am prepared to communicate what you want for you, but nothing else, if you want the help that is. If you have another German speaker I'm sure they can manage it too, just she has already spoken to me and I've knocked out a few emails to her clarifying specs and the actual order proper.

Oh, the guys here also set up a club bank account for this, so that was how that was dealt with.

Steve, I'd be slow to offer up my credit rating for a bunch of , albeit mostly nice, strangers on t'internets. Especially if you don't have full control of the lot. Set up an account and work it that way, then whoever has paid upfront gets their stuff.

Put me down for 8 please. I'm in dundee, but can pick up from aberdeen central belt if we arranged a delivee to there.
I've added to the list.
Could I suggest opening a paypall account. We could all pay into that then the person paying at the end pays.
