pinhole in Nordic 70l & pics of kegorator!

well it finally happened! the stockpot I reported to Nordic as having a slight crease in the base started leaking slightly on Saturday as I was running wort in. I heard a low bzzzzzzzzz and looked in to see a fine effervesence coming from it - not much I could do at that point, so soldiered on with the mash its was ok once it was thick enough not to leak. So what can I do now? My though was to simply drill it out and fit a dummy tap or temp node - alternatively I could use some liquid metal to glue a small pice of metal over it - I certainly am not in a position to weld it myself (if that's even practicle).

was a bit of a mare of a day in the end - hops disintegrated so fine that I couldnt get it to run clear from the boiler and then when I wnet to clean up I forgot the boiler was still plugged in and tore the dam power socket cover off the wall grrrrr.....

Still on the positive side, here is my kegorator I built on friday complete with box collar and insulation, 2x flow control taps on order to fit to the front. total cost: -

freezer 20 quid
box materials < 10 quid
insulation 5 quid ish
taps 15 quid each

2 cornies with wonderful Hefe chilling ready for the BBQ!

I'd say drill it and bolt in a stainless steel nut & bolt with stainless washers.

Click the 'link to this photo' and copy the 'Embed Image'.

Edit that down so you start with http:// and end with .jpg

Having a Flickr account for your photos makes it pretty easy too.

The way I do it is right click your image in picassa and select "view image". This will take you to a new page displaying a direct link to the image only. Copy what is in the address bar and post it in to the main body of your text. Highlight it and click the "Img" button above which is in between [*] and URL buttons. This should wrap your address link in quotes like this
