Anyone got a stainless steel boiler from Hop & Grape? I'm looking for some unbiased feedback on the product from JBK before I take the plunge.

The boiler is available as standard with a copper manifold type hop-stopper and a chrome-plated brass tap. For a few extra quid you can convert to a stainless steel false bottom and tap. I'm not sure if it's worth the extra dollars though.
Advice greatly appreciated.

They look like a great boiler but you could make your own for a lot less cash! Although you would need to be a little handy with DIY and have the tools etc? Worth seeing if any one who has built their own lives near you and would lend a hand or give guidance etc. Loads of threads on Jims on boiler builds and where to get the pots too.

If I had all the money I'd spent on brewing... I'd spend it on brewing!

Beware of boilers with false bottoms - the convection is usually so strong that it'll lift the false bottom, making it useless.
Re: Hop & Grape Stainless Steel Economy Boiler
Its a shame this has only just come up as I had 2 spare pans not long ago and could have build you one. I don't see how that false bottom would get lifted as it appears to "fasten" somehow and the element is not beneath it but john has a point which bears consideration. H&G are pretty good, Mr.Lard also makes them and he has sold quite a few to people on here and as far as I'm aware all are happy with his gear. What size had you planned to go for? Would a burco/buffalo not suit your needs?
