Fabricators, PID hole cut request pls :)

Post by Frothy » Sat Mar 01, 2014 11:22 pm

Hi All

For my latest project I am making a shiny stainless control box for a boiler.
I'm trying to keep it IP55 (water resistant/ splash proof) as much as possible.
I just received a PID from Auber and it comes with a rubber seal but the margin for error in mounting this thing is beyond my normal dremmel cutter/ grinder capabilities.

I'm looking for somebody with a Q-max type square punch or a computerised cutter that can cut a really accurate hole for me?
The hole needs to be 45mm x 45mm square in the middle of a 13cm x 13cm square sheet of polished 1mm 316 stainless. A friend can TIG it on for me.

Pls PM if you have the facilities and how much £££??

thanks
Frothy

Naaa piece of piss, mark it out,cut well inside the line then file the bugger until you get a tight fit,i found needle files the best thing.

If not then there's a guy with a waterjet in Wycombe who cut everything for my panel and was fantastic.

+1
I cut all mine by hand and filed them down.

Depending on what the box gauge actually is I`ll doubt a square qmax will even cope.
