Were to buy SS pot/bin/barrel etc

Post by aamcle » Sun Jun 08, 2014 11:59 pm

Evening all.

For my next attempt at a BM style build I'm looking for a specific size of pot ( must have a bottom like a stockpot) for a malt pipe.

My ideal would be 26cm/10inch diameter by 30cm/12inch tall. Just under 16liter volume. Not over 26cm or over 30 tall.

Nearly all cheap so called deep 26cm stockpots are 11litre but I want a taller vessel it need not be an actual stockpot a straight drum or pail would do just as well.

If you know were I can get something like that please post a link.

Many thanks. Aamcle

Its always the way the size you want isn't quite standard..

Thanks. Aamcle

Sometime we need to think outside of the box

Ok, so these are a little expensive and I'm not sure the weld is food grade BUT on the plus point, they are stainless and give or take the sizes you're looking for. Plus they are built for harsher environments than a humble malt tube .....

This one is 316 Stainless.

Let me know how you get one .... =D>
Fermenting - Nothing
Conditioning - Nothing
Drinking - Tea
Planning - Everything, if only I had the time ... !!

Thanks for the links I've considered SS flue pipe, it would be ideal if the bottom of my urn was flat but it undulates.

I'm now looking at the cam lock variation so I want a pot with a bottom :)
