Auto Syphons

Any good? I assume they are? I am just trying to buy in some new basic bits to make my life easier.

My main question is, do I HAVE to buy the 23 lt one for 23 lts or can you get away with the small one for 4.5lt Demi Johns?

Silly question I know but the price is double I think for the big one.

Only have experience of the 1 gallon, and it's great, you just need to be careful when siphoning near hops as they can get stuck in the valve at the bottom of the siphon. A quickly modded tea ball helps with that.
Ingredients: Water, Barley, Hops, Yeast, Seaweed, Blood, Sweat, The swim bladder of a sturgeon, My enemies tears, Scenes of mild peril, An otter's handbag and Riboflavin.

They are great, and you could get away with using the smaller one, I've been using that for my 11L brews from a 15L bucket for a while now since I broke the 23Ltr one. Only downsides to the smaller one are, you can't use it with a clip on the FV because it won't reach the bottom so you have to keep moving it, and it moves liquid a bit slower than the bigger one

Hiya CEB
I have the 23 litre one and it is awesome!

The bisggest downer is the tubing you get with it gets easily kinked and mine came folded so replaced with some decent silicone tubing

I really like them, but I've managed to break a couple, and my current one seems to be sucking air into the liquid past the seal inside the outer tube. I'm just hoping the beer survives this oxygenation...

In total agreement with the others, they're fantastic. My current dilemma is whether to switch to taps on my fvs, which could make things even easier.
Best wishes

Also can I use the 23lt one for DJ's too?

I couldn't get the 23lt one through the neck of my 1gallon demijohns :(

Yep the big one wont fit a demijon as I found too =[

Also dont sit it in boiling hot water when cleaning and forget about it... mines now very bent.
