Hi all, just been offered a 2 year old whirlpool fridge/freezer that has been diagnosed with a faulty circuit board, as new boards start at £150 it's not worth it, as the compressor and refridgerant are ok does anyone know if the electronic side of it can be bypassed ? as it would only need to be controlled by a temp controller.

Re: fridge not working.
I think most compressors are similar, electrically at least. I bypassed one recently and made a diagram which might be of use to you.
Have a look at where the mains goes into the fridge. If it connects directly to the compressor unit it should be a similar approach.

Should be really easy, just rip out all the techy stuff and get it to its basics which is just a supply to a compressor.
